Workshops At The Symphony Hall Foyer
Friday 21st June
Symphony Hall Foyer
Workshop with Millicent Chapanda - 2-3:30 pm (Free event)
Inclusive drumming, singing dancing, and movement workshop, creatively designed to celebrate diversity international journeys of migrants. The workshop is a depiction of the diverse multicultural society in Britain. A piece of collective multicultural music making workshops delivered in true African cultural practices encouraging self-expression and improvisation. Ability to read music is not necessary - there is a Zimbabwean proverb that goes: ‘if you can walk you can dance and if you can talk you can sing’.
Afrikan Fusion believes that musical expression is one's feelings portrayed in the rhythms they produce which can never be deemed wrong. All are invited to feel free and express their own opinions with open minds as well as healthy community discourse.
