Germa Adan - a talented musician, draws inspiration from her Haitian folk roots, crafting music that transcends borders. Her journey from Haiti to the US and now the UK shapes her art with explorations of identity. Known for her storytelling and social consciousness, Germa blends vocal and stringed harmonies with influences from various folk traditions.
My Birmingham Sound
My Birmingham Sound has been creative research project run in partnership with Aston University, Celebrating Sanctuary, Stories of Hope and Home and B:Music. Through a workshop exploring migration and the music and stories that remind us of home, Germa worked with refugee group, Stories of Hope and Home to inspire the composition of a new work.
Please join Germa Adan as she reflects on the inspiration and process which inspired the new piece that she will be sharing.
