Join us for the next instalment of our 2026 Lunchtime Concerts at Symphony Hall. Continuing our aim to share diverse cultural and musical experiences, we are delighted to introduce Ahmet Ozan Baysal to our Lunchtime series for his first performance with us.
Ahmet Ozan Baysal
Ahmet Ozan Baysal is a London-based musician, composer and bağlama specialist known for his distinctive double-necked bağlama and refined şelpe technique. Blending Anatolian folk traditions with contemporary modal improvisation, jazz-influenced harmony and microtonal phrasing, he creates a spacious and resonant solo sound world shaped by counterpoint and polyrhythms. He has performed at prestigious European festivals including Festival d'Aix-en Provence, Walden Festival, EFG London Jazz Festival, Nuoro Jazz Festival and Isole che Parlano. His recent solo album “Tel ve Ten” (ARC Music) received international acclaim, including a 4-star review in Songlines. Holding a PhD from Istanbul Technical University’s MIAM (Centre for Advanced Studies in Music) and having conducted post-doctoral research at SOAS University of London, he reimagines the bağlama’s tradition through a modern, exploratory performance approach.
These events are made possible through our partnership with B:Music and their continued support.
